Cheers to a Great 2009!

I was so caught up with last Christmas' vacation that I was unable to update this blog. My apologies. Things have been crazy late last year. Apart from our very fabulous vacation, I was also busy with school. Yeah, surprise, surprise. So even if it's like the last week of January already, I would still like to greet everyone a happy new year! I hope everyone had the chance to stay in one of those really nice vacation rentals out of town. My husband and I did and it really gave us the break that we needed. This year is going to be more stressful and busy for sure so I am glad we had that vacation.

So, cheers to 2009! I'm welcoming every challenge and will be grateful for all the blessings. Bring it on 2009!

Growing Old

Call me crazy but if given the choice, I do not want to reach the age of 80. This may come as a shock knowing that I am the kind of person that loves life. However, I do not want to burden my future children to care for me when I can no longer do it by myself. Yes, you could suggest that I be left in an elderly facility but that is not part of our culture. I would be grateful if I am still as strong as a horse at this age but I don't want to see the day that my children's shopping list would include incontinence supplies. When this happens, then it would only mean one thing, the inevitable has happened. I have gone back to the first stage of the life cycle. This is what I would like to avoid. My children should be enjoying life and exploring it and not taking care of an old woman.

One Nation. One Scent.

It was in the mid to late 90's when people (particularly men) started to "smell" the same. There were only three choices. It's either they smell of: 1.) Calvin Klein's cK one; 2.) Calvin Klein's Eternity; and lastly 3.) Davidoff's Cool Water. Even the girls in my high school used these three even if they're men's perfume.

cK one smells nice actually but if everywhere you go that is what you always smell then your nose gets "irritated" and you suddenly just get tired of it. It even came to a point that smelling roast beef sandwich inside the classroom was more exciting than smelling any of those three.

The Demi Cut

I noticed a lot of people are now sporting Rihanna's hairdo or something similar to that cut. I don't blame them. It looks like it is a low-maintenance 'do. Even our local actress Angelica Panganiban has the same cut as Rihanna. Ethel Booba also has the same hairstyle but I think she's been wearing her hair like this longer than Ms. Umbrella-eh-eh-eh.

It is a known fact that people tend to idolize famous celebrities. They go as far as copying their clothes, makeup and in this case their hairdo. This isn't unusual really because back in the early 90's when Ghost was such a big hit (read: I've watched it three times!) that a lot of women had their hair cut similar to Demi's in that movie.

They were really die hard (no pun intended) Demi fans. I was one of them. I asked my mom to have my hair cut just like Demi's. Hahaha! It was the "in" thing. I was wondering though where did her fans go when she starred in GI Jane. Bwahahaha!

Have you ever copied the hairstyle of your favorite celebrity?
